About the prints

What are pre-matted, giclée prints?

All prints are giclée, which means they are printed with high-technology printers that use a spray technique in order to create an accurate reproduction of the original piece. The paper is either a deep matte archival cotton or textured artist paper. With giclée prints, the colors and vibrancy truly shine through, and the print will last decades.

When you buy a print, it will be sent pre-matted, which means that for no additional charge, the piece will be placed within archival, acid-free matting paper. This simply prepares them for framing, leaving you with only the frame to purchase. Matting paper also acts as a barrier so you don’t need to directly handle the print.

You are free to discard or replace matting paper as you prefer.

About the artist

My name is Samantha, and I’ve been an artist since the day my mother dug a painting out of the trash.

I was in fifth grade, the day school ended. I had thrown away an art project from that year— an acrylic painting of a tree. I was convinced it was no good— nothing remarkable, at least, but my mother saw something in it that I did not.

Since then, I began an artistic journey exploring a plethora of mediums, ultimately finding myself in love with watercolor. The permanence and flexibility of this medium has always challenged and captivated me.

I’ve sold prints, cards, and custom portraits through Etsy since 2020. Waterylines was a name I chose that refers to both watercolor lines and lines of prose— two things I hope to stitch together in future projects.

As of now, I’m a mid-twenties woman continuing my creating journey, located near Boston, MA. The designs you see on here speak to all the beautiful, curious, and colorful things in the world. I strive to create artwork that tells a story. I hope you enjoy everything you find!
